Sheikh Hasina among top 3 leaders in fighting corona

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is one of the top three leaders in the Commonwealth consisting of 54 Heads of Government in combating coronavirus (Covid-19).

This was confirmed in a press release issued from Bangladesh High Commission in London on Friday (March 5).

Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland QC on March 4 bracketed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Arden and Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley for their extraordinary leadership during the Covid-19 pandemic in a special announcement ahead of the International Women's Day 2021, according to the press release.

The Commonwealth Secretary-General said, “I would like to mention three outstanding leaders in our Commonwealth – Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Arden and Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Amor Mottley – for their extraordinary leadership during Covid-19 pandemic in their roles in their respective countries.”

Patricia Scotland QC said, “All these three leaders alongside so many other women have given me hope for a world that delivers a common future for women and men and serves all of our common good.”
