Female teacher remanded in housemaid murder case

A Dhaka court has placed Farzana Islam, senior teacher of accounting department of Beershreshtha Noor Mohammad Public School and College in the capital on a four-day remand in a case filed for killing a housemaid.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Moinul Islam passed the order on Sunday (April 11).

Police recovered the body of Laily Akter from 4th floor of a residential building in New Market area on Saturday (April 10) evening. Injury marks were found on her whole body. Police came to know that Laily was son of Siraj Mia, hailed from Chandraganj of Lakshmipur. She had been working at Farzana Islam’s house for six months.

Laily’s mother filed a murder case with New Market Police Station in this connection.
