Georgia declares April 14 as Pahela Baishakh Day

The Doraville City Mayor of Georgia in the United States has announced ‘Pahela Baishakh Day’ on April 14.

He took this initiative to spread amaze of the people of Bangladesh. Doraville City Mayor Joseph Gearman announced it officially as a Pahela Baishakh Day on April 14, signing a signature in the certificate.

Bangladeshis living in all walks of the world including the United States celebrated the festival of Pahela Baishakh. Georgia expatriate Bangladeshis are also no exception. Every year, various social and cultural organizations of Georgia celebrate Pahela Baishakh. Due to the virus, he is not celebrating anywhere in Georgia this year. On this day, the new year was observed in the happy environment. Greetings of Bangla New Year advance to all Bangladeshi and world-wide Bengali speakers of Georgia. Happy Bangla New Year.”
