Banks to remain closed during lockdown

All banks will remain closed during the ‘all-out lockdown’ which is set to be enforced from 14 April to April 21 to prevent the coronavirus infection.

Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued an order in this regard on Monday (April 12).

According to the directives, even if the bank is closed, all online services including ATM and internet banking will remain open all the time. The branches and sub-branches of the bank located in the sea, land and airport areas should take steps through consultation with the concerned authorities.

Banks have been directed to provide adequate quantity of notes to facilitate ATM and card transactions during the lockdown.
