Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has urged the nation to celebrate the Pohela Boishakh, the first day of Bengali calendar, at home as the coronavirus infection is on the rise across the country.

She said, “Like the last year, we cannot do anything outside this year. Because, the second wave of coronavirus has already hit the whole country. The coronavirus has become even more deadly.”
PM said, “We will enjoy the joy of Pohela Boishakh at home like the last year. Diffeent programmes will be broadcast through various digital channels including television. In addition, we can also enjoy ourselves at a home environment with family members.”
“We will purify ourselves by washing away all the rubbish of the past. We will move forward strongly. Let’s have a bright future, let this be the oath of the new year,” she said.
