Symbolic Pahela Baishakh celebration at Fine Arts Faculty

Pahela Baishakh, the first day of Bangla New Year 1428, is being celebrated across the country virtually without outdoor programs due to the coronavirus amid government enforced a week-long stricter restriction.

The government has enforced a week-long stricter restriction from April 14 to stem the alarming spread of the deadly coronavirus.

Though the Dhaka University’s Fine Arts Faculty completed all preparations for the main attraction of the Bangla New Year- Mongol Shovajatra like the previous years, but the traditional colorful procession was not brought out this year.

Some people joined a symbolic Mongol Shovajatra on the faculty premises.

Dhaka University Vice-chancellor  Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman led the procession.
