Bangladeshi teenager dies of cancer in Georgia

Anisa Abbas Mahima, a Bangladeshi teenager suffering from cancer, has died in the US state of Georgia.
Mahima, 16, died at the Scottish Right Children’s Hospital at midnight on Thursday (April 15) local time. Mahima is the youngest daughter of Mahmud Abbas Mithu, former president of the Georgia Bangladesh Association.
According to family sources, she had been suffering from cancer for a long time. She was diagnosed with kidney cancer at two and a half years old and had been under the supervision of a kidney doctor ever since. For her recovery, the doctor also removed a kidney when she was a child. After failing all the attempts of the doctor, Mahima died in the same hospital.
Anisa Abbas Mahima’s ancestral home is known to be in the greater Cumilla district. The Bangladesh Association of Georgia has extended its condolences to the bereaved family.
