Hefazat leader Sharafat Hossain arrested

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested Mufti Sharafat Hossain, Joint General Secretary of Hefazat-e-Islam, also general secretary of Khelafat Majlish.

He was arrested from Senpara of Mirpur area around 5:00pm on Wednesday (April 21).

Iftekharul Islam, additional deputy commissioner (ADC), confirmed the matter.

He is an accused in a case filed over Matijheel Shapla Chattar mayhem carried on May 5, 2013.
