Khaleda needs court permission for treatment in abroad: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that court permission is needed to take BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in abroad for treatment. No application in this regard was submitted on behalf of Khaleda Zia till Tuesday (May 4) noon.

The Minister said this while talking to reporters at his own office in the Secretariat on Tuesday.

He said, “In the hospital where Khaleda Zia is being undergone treatment, advance treatment is being arranged for her there. If she has to go abroad, she has a legal obligation. If her family applies, permission can be obtained from the court.”

Earlier on Monday (May 3), Khaleda Zia admitted to the capital’s Evercare Hospital. She was later shifted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) as she had been suffering from shortness of breath. Later, her doctors said that though she has been suffering from shortness of breath, she has no other health complexities. However, details will be revealed after further checkup of her health.

Then, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir contacted with Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal to take the party chief abroad for better treatment.
