Recommendations to take Khaleda abroad for treatment

The medical board formed for BNP chief Khaleda Zia’s treatment has recommended to take her abroad for advance treatment.

They said, “Khaleda Zia needs to go abroad for better treatment urgently”.

Medical board sources on Tuesday (May 4) said, “Khaleda Zia is currently undergoing treatment at the capital’s Evercare Hospital. She has been put on oxygen in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU).”

A source claiming anonymity said, “An application on behalf of Khaleda Zia’s family has been submitted to the government seeking permission for her better treatment in abroad. But no response has yet been made.”

However, BNP media wing officials said that they knew nothing in this regard.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that no application has yet been submitted to the government on behalf of her family or the party.

Mentionable, Khaleda Zia tested positive for coronavirus on April 10. Since, she was receiving treatment at her home. She was admitted to Evercare Hospital to checkup her health. She was admitted to non-Covid zone as she had no symptoms of coronavirus.

She was shifted to the CCU on Monday (May 3) noon as she was suffering from shortness of breath. In the night, Professor Dr A Z M Zahid Hossain, a member of her personal medical team and BNP Vice Chairman, said that she had been suffering from shortness of breath due to post-Covid-19 complexities.
