Gazette issued extending ongoing restrictions till 16 May

The government has issued a gazette notification, extending the ongoing restrictions till May 16 in a bid to contain the spread of deadly coronavirus (Covid-19).

The cabinet division issued the gazette notification in this regard on Wednesday (May 5).

According to the gazette notification, the inter-district bus service will remain suspended. But the public transports will be allowed to ply inside cities and district towns following health rules from 6 May. Besides, bus, train services will remain suspended.

All the staff of government, semi-government, autonomous, private offices, banks and financial institutions will have to stay in their respective work stations during Eid holidays.

The shopping mall, markets, shops will remain open as per previous schedule from 10am to 8pm maintaining proper hygiene rules. If there is any negligence in health rules, the market will be shut down.

Mask use has to be ensured everywhere. All social, political and religious gatherings have to be stopped.

The government imposed restrictions from 5-11 April to contain the second wave of the pandemic. Later, a one-week nationwide lockdown was enforced from 14 April to 28 April. It was further extended till 5 May.
