Banking transaction time extended by an hour

The ongoing restrictions enforced to prevent the coronavirus infection has been extended till May 16. Although the banks are operating on a limited scale during this period, the transaction time has been extended to 4 hours.

The Department of Off-site Supervision of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued new directives in this regard on Wednesday (May 5).

According to the directives, transaction activities will go on from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm except weekly holidays. However, the banks will remain open till 3:30 pm to complete post-transaction additional activities.

Earlier, during the period from April 14 to May 5, the bank transaction time was from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The bank was open till 2.30 pm to complete post-transaction ancillary activities. 

Now the transaction and bank opening hours have been extended by an hour.
