Health directorate suspends registration for coronavirus vaccine

The first dose of the coronavirus vaccine has already been discontinued due to shortage. This time, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has suspended registration of the vaccine.

DGHS Additional Director General Professor Meerjady Sabrina Flora made the disclosure on Wednesday (May 5).

She said, “We have already stopped providing the first dose of coronavirus vaccine due to crisis. Even then, we have a shortage of about 14 lakh vaccines. In this case, the registration of vaccine has been suspended for the time being.”

“When we will start administering the first dose of vaccine again, the registration will resume. In the meantime, we will continue to provide the rest of the vaccines,” she added.

She further said, “The shipment of vaccine has yet not reached us as per the agreement. As a result, we want to complete the vaccination process to those only who have already registered.”
