Plot to attack JS building: One held

Members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested a member of the banned militant group Ansar Al-Islam for his alleged involvement in plotting to carry out an attack on the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) building.

This was confirmed from the DMP’s media wing on Thursday (May 6).

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Police Md Iftekharuzzaman said the arrestee will be produced before a court with remand prayer.

Besides, another man named Ali Hasan Osama has been arrested from Rajbari for his alleged link to extremism in provoking the attack, he added.
