Law Ministry rejects Khaleda’s application for treatment abroad: Home Minister

The Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs has rejected the application submitted seeking permission for treatment of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia abroad.
The Ministry responded with the negative opinion as there is no precedent for any convicted accused to take medical treatment abroad.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal made the disclosure on Sunday (May 9).
He said, “According to the opinion of the law ministry, the application cannot be granted. We have done as much as we have to do according to the law. But we can’t do anything beyond the law.”
Meanwhile, Law Minister Anisul Huq said that Khaleda Zia have got no scope to go abroad as she is a convicted in a case.
Earlier, the Law Ministry opinion over Khaleda Zia’s application reached the Home Ministry on Sunday morning.
