Long-haul buses ply on ignoring restrictions

The nation is celebrating the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of Muslims. Thousands of people left the capital for village to celebrate the Eid with nears and dears. However, this year’s Eid journey was a little different. People left the capital overcoming a lot of sufferings as long-haul buses remain suspended. Meanwhile, many long-haul buses also left Dhaka with passengers ignoring the government restrictions and evading police.

It was seen at Kajla of Jatrabari area in the capital that several long-haul buses were leaving Dhaka with passengers. The public transports are running as there was no activities of police.

It was seen that a bus of Tish Exclusive was heading towards Cumilla from Sayedabad. Staffs were shouting for passengers while moving forward.  They also were announcing fare of Tk 400.

Many of people were leaving Dhaka on the Eid day. Homegoers were also paying extra fare to reach home.

One passenger named Muslem Uddin said, “I will go Cumilla. Shops were opened till the crescent moon day. Selling was also good. So, I could not go home. Now I left out for home and is waiting for vehicle. I saw that some buses were running, but charging much more. I have to go home with the extra fare I cannot manage any vehicle.”
