Planning minister’s cell phone snatcher traced

Police are yet to arrest the snatcher of a mobile phone owned by Planning Minister MA Mannan although the snatcher has been identified. Police officials hope that the cell phone will be retrieved once the snatcher is arrested.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kafrul Police Station Md Selimuzzaman said on Tuesday (June 08), “The planning minister’s mobile phone is now switched off. The process of catching the snatcher is underway although he has gone into hiding. Hope, he will be arrested soon”.

Different members of the law enforcement agencies are working to arrest the snatcher, he said.

Mentionable, the planning minister got stuck in a traffic jam at Bijoy Sarani in the evening on May 30. At that time, the windows of his vehicle were rolled down and he was talking on his phone when suddenly a mugger snatched it and quickly fled the scene. 

The planning minister’s personal assistant (PS) filed a case with Kafrul Police Station over the incident.
