Protesters demand Quader Mirza’s arrest in Noakhali

Protesters have demanded the arrest of Basurhat municipality mayor Abdul Quader Mirza, younger brother of Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.

The supporters of former upazila chairman Mizanur Rahman Badal put blockade on roads and demanded arrest of Quader Mirza in Companiganj upazila of Noakhali around 10:30 am on Saturday (June 12).

Companiganj police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saifuddin Anwar confirmed the matter.

OC said, following the protest, the communication with Bashurhat town was disconnected from other unions. Legal action being taken.

Earlier in the morning, former upazila chairman Mizanur Rahman Badal and other AL leaders were heading towards Dhaka. But, 40-50 supporters of Quader Mirza attacked Badal’s motorcade and injured him.
