Bangladesh`s Muslims to skip Hajj pilgrimage this year

Faridul Haque Khan Dulal, State Minister for Religious Affairs said, Bangladeshi citizens will not perform the annual Islamic Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A press release signed by Mohammad Anwar Hossain, a senior information officer at the Ministry of Religious Affairs confirmed the matter on Saturday (June 12).
The minister said, Saudi government has informed that no citizen from foreign countries will be allowed to perform Hajj this year due to the pandemic.
A total of 60,000 pilgrims will be allowed to perform the pilgrimage this year.
