Woman allegedly pushed off roof, killed in city

Police on Monday (June 14) recovered blood-soaked body of a housewife from road 69, Gulshan-2 in the capital.

The deceased was known as Israt Jahan Mitu, wife of Ratul, who is Managing Director (MD) of RP Group. She was mother of three children.

Relatives alleged that Mitu was thrown off rooftop and killed by people of her father-in-law’s family.

Abul Hassan, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gulshan Police Station, confirmed risingbd about the recovery of Mitu’s body on Monday (June 14) afternoon.

He said, “Being informed, police recovered the body. It was primarily learned that the woman was killed after falling from rooftop. However, we are investigating the matter. Details will be revealed after the investigation. The body was sent to morgue for autopsy.”

Mitu’s uncle Masud told risingbd that she (Mitu) could not commit suicide by jumping off the rooftop. There were obviously various reasons including family feud behind this. She was killed by pushing off the roof. We demand neutral investigation over the incident.”
