Pori Moni’s case: Court directive to summit probe report July 8

A Dhaka court has asked Savar Thana Police to summit its probe report on a case against businessman Nasir Uddin Mahmud and five others involving an attempt to rape and murder of film actress Pori Moni.

Accepting the case, the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Kamrunnahar passed the order on Tuesday noon.

The actress filed the case on Monday with Savar Thana accusing six people including Nasir Uddin Mahmud for attempting to rape and murder her.

Later, detectives arrested Nasir Uddin Mahmud and five others from a flat in Uttara area. The law enforcers also recovered drugs from their possession.

Sources said police are going to plead to the court seeking remand of the accused Nasir Uddin Mahmud.
