Three vaccines of Bangladesh, India, China get nod for trial

Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) has given conditional approval to three vaccines of Bangladesh, India and China to conduct the phase-3 trial.

The vaccines include the local Globe Biotech’s Bangavax. The other two vaccines are of Bharat Biotech of India and the Institute of Medical Biology under the Chinese Academy.

However, before the trial on the human body, they must conduct trial on monkey. Then the documents have to be submitted to BMRC. After analysing these documents, if BMRC deems it appropriate, it will allow trial on human body.

BMRC Director Professor Dr Ruhul Amin confirmed the matter on Wednesday (June 16).

When asked, Dr Mohiuddin of Globe Biotech said, “We have heard that a conditional approval had been given, but no document has yet received.”
