Covid-19 vaccination set to resume Saturday

The Covid-19 vaccination campaign, which stalled due to shortage for several days, is set to resume on Saturday (June 19).

Sinopharm vaccine shots will be given from Saturday. For this, a total of 10 categories have been determined. Those who have not received vaccine earlier among police and government health workers will get priority. Expatriates will also be in the list of priority recipients.

A letter signed by Shamsul Haque, MNC&H line director of the Directorate General of the Health Services (DGHS), said Chinese nationals living in Bangladesh could also get the vaccine.

Sinopharm vaccines have already sent to the vaccination centres across the country. People who have registered for vaccination but not yet received will be given the vaccine.

Students of the public and private medical and dental colleges, government nursing and midwifery educational institutions, students of MATS and IHT, students of government university residential hall, officials and employees of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and other important national development projects (Padma Bridge, Matarbari Power Station, Metrorail, Expressway, Ruppur Neuclear Power plant and Rampal power plant project), cleaners of Dhaka North and South City Corporation areas, volunteers engaged in burying dead bodies of coronavirus all over the country will get vaccinated.
