Assault on Pori Moni: 3 accused denied bail

A court in Dhaka rejected a bail petition of three accused in a case filed over the attempted rape and murder of actress Pori Moni.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim passed the order on Sunday (June 20).

The three accused are Lipi Aktar, 18, Sumi Aktar, 19, and Nazma Amin Snigdha, 24. They are associates of businessman and former president of Uttara Club Limited Nasir Uddin Mahmud.

Earlier on June 14, Pori Moni filed a case with Savar police station. According to the case statement, the actress complained that Nasir physically assaulted her, forced a liquor bottle to her mouth to make her drink, and tried to rape her.
