Khaleda costs Tk 13 lakh at hospital for 53 days

A total of nearly Tk 13 lakh has been cost for treatment of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia at the Evercare Hospital at Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital for 53 days.

A source of Evercare Hospital confirmed the matter.

Khaleda Zia first had been in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) for 38 days since April 27. She was then transferred to a specialized cabin from the CCU when her blood infection was noticed. She stayed in the cabin for 15 days until she left the hospital on Saturday (June 19) and returned home.

Khaleda Zia’s 53-day medical bill was counted Tk 12.95 lakh, including CCU rent of Tk 11,500 per day, cabin rent of Tk 13,500, various tests, medicines and other expenses of Tk 6.55 lakh.

BNP chief tested positive for coronavirus on April 11. Then, she underwent treatment at home under the supervision of her personal physicians. She was admitted to the Evercare Hospital at Bashundhara in the capital on April 27 after her health condition deteriorated.

She was shifted to Coronary Care Unit (CCU) on May 3 as she suffered from shortness of breath. She tested negative for the deadly virus on May 8.
