Banking hour extended till 3pm

Bank branches will remain open from 10am to 3pm on August 2, 3 and 5 13 to give people more time to support investment and employment generation during the countrywide restriction.

Department of Financial Institutions and Markets of the central bank issued a notification in this regard on Thursday (July 29).

As per a circular issued by Bangladesh Bank, all banks will remain shut on August 1 and August 4. However, the banks will remain functional on a limited scale between on August 2, 3 and 5 -- from 10am to 3:00pm, maintaining all Covid-19 safety protocols.

The notification also said, internet banking service will continue for 24 hours. All banks will have to ensure the operations of ATM booths to facilitate transactions through cards and by supplying adequate cash in the machines.
