Industries reopen from August 1

The government has decided to reopen all the export-oriented industries from Sunday (August 1).
A gazette notification was issued in this regard on Friday (July 30).
The notice signed by Deputy Secretary Md Rezaul Islam said, all the export-oriented industries will be out of the purview of the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.
On the other hand, leaders of the business organizations expressed gratitude following the new announcement.
Earlier on July 29, apparel and textile factory owners held a meeting with cabinet secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam at the Bangladesh Secretariat and demanded that they should be allowed to reopen factories shortly for the ‘sake of economy and livelihoods’.
