Vaccine registration for people aged 18 to launch from Aug 8

The registration for coronavirus vaccine for people aged over 18 will launch from August 8.

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak made the disclosure in a Facebook post on Saturday (July 31) evening.

He further said in the post, “Those have no national ID cards will get vaccinated.”

Earlier Health Minister Zahid Maleque said at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the afternoon that those do not have national ID cards will be vaccinated in special arrangement.

He further said, “Inoculation programme will be launched at union level across the country from August 7. However, elderly people will get priority to get vaccinated.”

He said, “If elderly people come to the immunization centers with NID only, they will be vaccinated. Because older people are more susceptible to coronavirus. Most of them are dying. We want to decrease the death rate. So, we are going to start the programme.”
