Covid-19 death toll crosses 21,000-mark

The nationwide death toll due to Covid-19 in Bangladesh has crossed the grim 21,000 mark.

The country's health authorities on Monday (August 2) reported 246 more deaths from Coronavirus in the last 24 hours, climbing the national toll to 21,162 across the country so far.

Besides, 15,989 new cases were reported during the same period. With this, the total number of infections stood at 12,80,317 in the country.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), as many as 15,482 Covid-19 patients made recoveries in the last 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries to 11, 08,748 the release said.
