345 arrested in city on 11th day of lockdown

Police arrested 345 people for ignoring restrictions and roaming unnecessarily in the capital on Monday (August 2), the 11th day of the lockdown imposed to prevent the coronavirus infection.
Media wing of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) revealed the matter.
Faruk Hossain, deputy commissioner (DC) of DMP’s media wing, said, “They were arrested from Ramna, Lalbag, Motijheel, Mirpur, Uttara and Gulshan of the capital from Monday morning to afternoon. Some 135 were fined Tk 1,89,800 by the mobile court during the period. Besides, traffic police fined 366 vehicles Tk 8,24,500.
