Gabtoli bus terminal returns to normal

After a 19-day-long nationwide strict restriction imposed to stem the spread of Covid-19, public transports including buses started operating at full capacity from Wednesday morning.
The number of passengers has increased at Gabtoli bus terminal.
Transport workers are active in the Gabtoli bus terminal area from morning. Besides, passengers have started arriving at this busiest bus terminal from the morning.
On Wednesday (August 11) the activity of the counters at the bus terminal has increased. Transport workers are happy as the government has eased restrictions.
Talking to Mohammad Malek Hossain, counter master of Sakura Paribahan, said long-route buses have started plying from 6.00 am today. Passengers have started arriving from the morning. Most of the passengers were stranded in the capital.
“We are getting a lot of passengers, and tickets are also being sold well. However, more passengers are coming to Dhaka”, he also said.
Mohammad Habib, counter master of Eagle Paribahan, said he was in debt due to the impact of the lockdown. Some face a difficult problem to maintain their families. Besides, many of us did not get any government grant or assistance. Leaders have given the government grant to their relatives. Transport workers have been deprived of everything.
"We don't want lockdown anymore, we want to run buses, maintaining health guidelines”, he also said.
