Directive to remain CNG filling stations closed from 5-11pm

The government has decided to remain CNG filling stations closed across the country from 5 pm to 11 pm everyday in a bid to reduce the pressure on the national grid.
A circular signed by Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Saima Akhter was issued on Sunday.
According to sources in the ministry on Monday, Energy and Mineral Resources Division has sent a letter to Petrobangla chairman to implement the decision.
The decision was taken at a virtual meeting held on July 19 as part of the short and long-term plan for the demand and supply of gas at the gas-fired power plants.
Prime Minister’s power, energy and mineral resources adviser was present at the meeting while state minister presided over it.
