5 held for stealing Metro Rail materials

Pallabi Thana Police has arrested five people in connection with stealing construction materials of the Metro Rail project.

About 1,400 kg of various goods of the project were seized during the operation.

Pallabi Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Parvez Islam told risingbd on Thursday night (September 18) that the five were arrested in a raid from Pallabi area on Thursday afternoon.

Details will be announced at a press conference on Friday (September 18) at 11:30 am.  During this time, goods of Metrorail project were recovered from them. The detainees were trying to sell the goods elsewhere. Later, a raid was conducted in Pallabi police station area on secret information.

The arrestees are Anwar Hossain, Md. Robin, Md. Hasmat, Dulal Hossain and Delwar.
