Truck, covered-van owners, workers withdraw strike

The strike enforced by truck and covered-van owners-workers have withdrawn their indefinite strike.

They have withdrawn their strike after a discussion with Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Wednesday noon.

The Truck and Covered Van Owners-Workers Oikyo Parishad enforced a 72-hour countrywide strike from Tuesday morning to press for implementation of their 15-point demand including taking steps to stop extortion.

Thousands of prime-movers, trailers, lorries and trucks remained idle from Tuesday.
