Bangladesh joins New Development Bank as member

Marcos Troyjo, president of the New Development Bank (NDB) congratulated finance minister AHM Mustafa Kamal as Bangladesh joined the New Development Bank (NDB), as a member state.

In a press release signed by Gazi Tauhidul Islam, the public relations officer of the finance ministry confirmed the matter on Saturday (September 25).

The joining has been confirmed after the country submitted its Instrument of Accession to the Brazil government on September 16, said the press release.

Earlier on August 20, the NDB board of governors, in a meeting, approved Bangladesh as a new member state of the bank established by the BRICS, an alliance of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
