Police recovered the body of a physician from a flat in capital’s Khilkhet area on Sunday (October 17) morning.
The deceased was identified as Joydeb Chandra Das, 25, a former student of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College.
Confirming the recovery of the body, officer-in-charge (OC) of Khilkhet Police Station Munshi Sabbir said, Joydeb’s neighbours informed police after smelling bad odour coming out from the flat at Nikunja-2.
Later, police rushed to the spot and broke open the door and spotted the body lying on the bed, the OC said.
It is believed that he died three or four days ago. However, it is not yet clear whether he committed suicide or was murdered, the OC said.
The real cause behind his death can be known after his post mortem, he added.
