Tk 2,200cr incentive released for remittance

The government disbursed Tk 2,200 crore in cash incentive for remittance and exports for the months of October-December 2021-22 fiscal year.

Finance Division of the finance ministry issued two separate circular in this regard on Thursday (October 21).

According to the circulars, Bangladesh Bank (BB) will disburse amount to all scheduled banks to provide 2 per cent cash incentives to the beneficiaries of remittances.

Sources said, the central bank will disburse more Tk1,000 crore for readymade garments, frozen items and leather goods exporters. Besides, Tk200 crore will be disbursed among the jute and jute item exporters.

Wishing anonymity, an official of finance division said, Tk4,000 crore incentives were disbursed among the remittance earners in the last fiscal year ended in June month.
