6 magnitude earthquake hits country

An earthquake, with a magnitude 6, struck different places of the country including the capital Dhaka at about 5:45 a.m. on Friday.
Tremors were felt in Dhaka, Chattogram, Noakhali, Khulna, Brahmanbaria, Bagerhat, Tangail, Rangamati, Rangpur and Kurigram districts, correspondents confirmed the news.
The epicentre was at a depth of 42km in Hakha area of Myanmar.
According to United States Geological Survey (USGS) website, the earthquake was a ‘long shake’ for about 41 seconds in most parts where the effects were felt.
No information of damage and causalities was reported yet.
