Voting in 1,007 UPs underway

Voting has started in 1,007 Union Parishads and 10 municipalities across the country in the third phase on Sunday (November 28).

The polling, starting at 8:00 am, will continue till 4:00 pm without any break.

Out of the 1,007 Union Parishads, some 569 aspirants have already been elected unopposed. Of them, 100 are chairman candidates.

Fearing violence, the Election Commission (EC) issued a strong note of warning and directed the field administration to take immediate action by intensifying intelligence activities to stop the violence in the ongoing Union Parishad (UP) elections.
