Pillion rider of bike crushed under truck in Dhaka

Pillion rider of a motorbike was crushed under a truck at Kawla under the airport area in Dhaka on Friday (December 3).
The deceased was identified as Mahadi Hasan Limon, 21, son of Mozammel Haque from the village Damdama Poshchim under Panchbibi Police Station in Joypurhut district. Mahadi was a private university student.
The incident took place around 11:30 pm. Mahadi passed away at 2:00 am while undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Inspector Md Bachchu Mia, in-charge of the DMCH police camp confirmed the death on Saturday (December 4) morning.
Mahadi’s uncle Mohammad Imam Hasan said that Mahadi was returning to his Uttara residence from Zigatola tannery junction that night. The truck smashed him when he reached the Padma Oil Company at Kawla.
Being informed about the incident, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Airport Police Station Asaduzzaman rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
The duty doctor declared Mahadi dead around 2:00 am after he was taken to the DMCH emergency unit.
Bachchu Mia said the body was kept at the morgue for an autopsy.
Quoting the airport police, he said that the killer truck was seized but the driver and helper of the truck managed to flee the scene.
