No Covid lockdown now in country: Health Minister

Health Minister Zahid Maleque has said that there is no decision now to impose lockdown in the country.

The minister said this to reporters after visiting the under-construction Bangladesh Institute of Health Management Building (BIHM) in Savar on Sunday.

“There is no need to panic about Omicron, a situation requiring border closure or lockdown has not been created yet,” the minister said.

He said Bangladesh has now enough stock of vaccine doses and preparation to face any situation.

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Enamur Rahman and Senior Secretary of the Health Services Division Lokman Hossain were present during the visit.
