1 dies, 3 burnt in N’ganj paper mill fire

One died and three people sustained burn injuries when a fire broke out at Gazi Paper Mill in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj.
The deceased was identified as Abdul Hanif, 42. Those who sustained burn injuries were identified as Mohammad Shahin, Abdul Haque and Hafizur Rahman.
The burnt people were admitted to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS).
Dr. SM Ayub Hossain, resident surgeon at SHNIBPS, confirmed the matter on Sunday (January 16).
“The Rupganj Gazi Paper Mill factory caught fire on Saturday (January 15) night. The four critically burnt people were brought to the emergency department of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery around 4 am on Sunday. Among them, Abdul Hanif died. The other three will be kept in the intensive care unit (ICU).” said the surgeon.
Mohammad Shahin sustained 70 percent of burn injuries, Abdul Haque 75 percent and Hafizur Rahman 95 percent.
The three are in a critical condition, he added.
