Bangladesh logs 5,222 new Covid-19 cases

Bangladesh registered eight more deaths from coronavirus (Covid-19) in the past 24 hours, climbing the national toll to 28,144 across the country so far.

Besides, some 5222 new cases were reported over the same period. With this, the total number of infected cases stood at 16,17,711 in the country.

A press release of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the development on Sunday (January 16).

Alongside, as many as 293 Covid-19 patients made recoveries in the past 24 hours, bringing the total recoveries to 15,52,893, the release said.
