Ivy meets Taimur

Newly elected mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) Dr Selina Hayat Ivy has made a courtesy call with her opponent Taimur Alam Khandaker with sweets.

The ruling Awami League nominated candidate Ivy, who won the city mayoral race for the third time in a row, reached Taimur’s home at 5:00 pm on Monday (January 17) and served him sweets. Family members of the both contesters were also present there.

Ivy and Taimur told reporters that they have family ties. That is why this well-being exchange. Ivy is a member of their family.

Earlier, Ivy told media after her landslide victory in the polls that her (Ivy) triumph is the triumph of Taimur Alam Khandaker. There is nothing to get hurt in mind.  Because our goals are the same. I am as like his daughter. I will work with his advice. Uncle has collaborated me before.

Ivy said, “I will try to follow the manifesto he (Taimur) gave before the vote. I will talk to him and also used to talk before.” 

Mentionable, Ivy obtained 1,61,273 votes while her nearest opponent Taimur Alam Khandaker got 92,171 votes in 192 centers, thus Ivy triumphed over her opponent by 69,102 votes.
