Shimu`s husband confesses to killing wife

Shakhawat Ali Nobel, the husband of victim Raima Islam Shimu, confessed to his involvement in the murder of his wife.

Dhaka district police super (SP) Maruf Hossain Sardar made the announcement in a press conference at the office of Dhaka police super on Tuesday (January 18).

The SP said, the family feud is the reason behind the murder and the husband confessed to the killing during the primary investigation.

Earlier, Abdus Salam, officer-in-charge of Keraniganj Model Police Station, said the arrestees are actress Shimu’s husband Nobel and one of his friends.

On Tuesday morning, Abdus Salam said the dead body has been sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital for autopsy. The body bore several injury marks. In the primary investigation, it is seemed that she was murdered by criminals and her body was later dumped, he also said.

Shimu used to live with her husband and child at a flat in Green Road in the city. She went missing on Sunday morning.
