Police rescue housemaid who tortured in city

Police on Tuesday (January 18) rescued a housemaid named Farzana Akter, 16, who was tortured at the capital’s Kalabagan area. She was admitted to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
Sub-Inspector (SI) Shamim Hossain of Kalabagan Police Station confirmed the matter to risingbd.
He said, “The housemaid was rescued from a central road of Kalabagan after a complaint was filed by the victim’s family. There injury marks on the different parts of her body.”
According to locals, Farzana had been working in that house for long days. The housewife of the home frequently tortured her. She informed the matter as she could not tolerate. Being informed, she was rescued on Tuesday. Though the household and his wife were detained after the complaint, police could not acknowledge that immediately.
