New Canadian envoy joins Dhaka office

Lilly Nicholls, the newly appointed Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, has expressed her gladness after being welcomed with Bangladeshi sweets upon her arrival here.

“I am so pleased to have arrived in Dhaka to lead the Canadian High Commission in Bangladesh. And so happy to be welcomed with delicious Bangladeshi sweets!” she tweeted on Wednesday (January 19).

Lilly Nicholls, who replaced Benoit Préfontaine, has 30 years of experience in international affairs. Her career has spanned six continents.

Most recently, Lilly Nicholls served as the ambassador of Canada to Panama from 2018 to 2021.
