Want to make police world class: Home Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said, “Police are becoming real police for people. They are always by side of people. The way police have served people during coronavirus situation is truly unprecedented. We want to make police world class. That is why we are doing everything we can.”

The Minister said this while speaking at a view exchange meeting at Rajarbag police auditorium in the capital on Thursday (January 27) night.

He said, “Bangladesh police has become a role model in preventing militancy. The country has become militants free because of police’s sincere efforts. Different specialized units including Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit, Anti-Terrorrim unit (ATU) have been formed to increase capability of police. We have done everything for police whenever it needs. Police staff college have turning into a world class one. How cops are working currently will continue the efforts with the inspiration of patriotism.”

The Minister said, “Police officials placed several demands. They mentioned some inconsistencies. We soon meet their demands which are possible for our ministry. Which demands need advice from Prime Minister, we will discuss those with her. They need a university to enhance their experience. We have modernized police force with enhancing manpower and creating several new units.”
