We should congratulate India for arresting P K Halder: HC

Expressing satisfaction over the arrest of former Managing Director of NRB Global Bank P K Halder (Prashanta Kumar Halder), the High Court said, “We should congratulate the Indian government”.

A bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Md Izarul Haq Akanda came up with the opinion on Monday.

The bench also fixed Tuesday (May 17) the hearing date of a rule regarding P K Halder.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) of India has arrested P K Halder and five others.

The ED on Friday raided 10 locations in North and South 24 Parganas of Bengal to nab them, who cheated multiple banks in Bangladesh and siphoned off several hundred crore Bangladeshi taka to India and some other countries, it said on a statement.
