BSEC freezes shares of PK Halder’s company

The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has directed the authority concerned to freeze of all beneficiary owners’ accounts of Proshanta Kumar Halder alias PK Halder.

The stock market regulator asked the Central Counterparty Bangladesh Limited (CCBL) to take necessary steps in this regard on Thursday (May 19).

Wishing anonymity, a top official of BSEC told risingbd that basically the step was taken after getting direction from the court.

On the other hand, ACC filed another case against 12 persons including Former MD Reliance Finance (Aviva Finance), of NRB Global Bank (Global Islami) and PK Haldar. ACC Assistant Director Rakibul Hayat filed the case at the Dhaka Integrated District Office-1.

PK Haldar swindled over Tk 10,200 crore from different non-banking financial institutions (NBFIs). India's Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested Halder in the eastern state of West Bengal on May 14.
